Made in Switzerland, the SG 550 is one of the few 5.56mm sniper rifles that was officially adopted. Developed From the SG 550 assault rifle, accuracy is improved by the addition of a sensitive double-pull trigger, and also a heavy barrel. A bi-pod is standard as is a fully adjustable stock. These rifles were developed at a time when sniper rifle adoption was still in its infancy and it is a high precision rifle, though probably more suitable to a DMR role. We have no first hand experience with this weapon at Sniper Central, but the reports are of very good accuracy, well below MOA with the right ammo.
