We mentioned a month ago that this rifle was coming up for auction and that it might bring some very serious cash, and boy did it ever! Lot 1321 in the May Premier Auction at Rock Island Auction Company was a nearly new Walther WA2000 chambered in .308 and had an estimated price of $50,000-$80,000 and the actual price rocketed through those estimates and closed with a selling price of $264,375 (USD). This rifle was rated at 98% and included the case and accessories including a mounted Zeiss Diavari-Z 2.5-10×52 mm scope on a platform specific mount. In addition to the metal case the package included an extra matching numbered magazine, extra scope mount base, cleaning rod, tools, a load bearing harness, and WA 2000 manual…just in case the new owner actually plans to shoot it.
